Couldn't work Monday because the kids had no school. Couldn't work Tuesday because there was no AT&T internet service in Atlanta. Got almost nothing done yesterday because the kids had a half day in anticipation of the snow. And after an inch or so of the fluffy stuff last night there is no school today. Pretty much a disaster in terms of getting anything done. BUT before I go off to figure out how to entertain these two munchkins, I wanted to remember to share with you some really cool news that I've been meaning to tell you all week but just haven't gotten the chance.

Remember that little letter we wrote together to Time magazine to share our displeasure with their unbalanced article on postpartum depression screening? They chose it as one of their Letters of the Year. Yes, you heard me right.

In their "Man of the Year" issue featuring Ben Bernanke, they excerpt a teeny part of it. It's not even that compelling of an excerpt if you ask me (I think they had to use the super-shortened version we were asked to write), but I think they chose it for one reason:

We made ourselves loud and clear.

I'm sure they get tens of thousands of letters each year. I'm sure many of them are very compelling. But they chose ours as one of the best and I KNOW it's because we all came together to use our voices in a way that was fact-based, yet passionate and assertive. That's what we must keep doing to change the way perinatal mood and anxiety disorders like postpartum depression are recognized and treated.

Congratulations everybody!
