I don't live in the States but I can't tell you how happy I am at all this. Just the thought that this will help my fellow American sisters is so overwhelming… in a good way…no, make that a great way.
Thanks for all you did Katherine to make this a reality and thanks for expressing our gratitude (as your website readers) up there on the hill. You did a great job at the press conference!

This is an incredible day for me. Every year that goes by, I consider it a gift and a miracle that I can celebrate Mother's Day with my daughter & my family. Postpartum Depression tore my family apart. Thank goodness that my daughter's father is still very much a part of her life, but it demolished our marriage. I hope that with this new law, there will be support for new fathers who are devastated & overwhelmed at the loss of who they once knew to be a loving & stable wife.

Great point Naysha. We need to make these families whole and healthy.

Thank you all! I live in Canada and had the priveledge of meeting and speaking with Carol Blocker this last October. I am a survivor of Post Partum Depression. With the Melanie Stokes Blocker Mothers Act being passed hopfully Canada will pick up its pace in recognizing and supporting Mothers and Families suffering with this terrible illness.
