postpartum depression trainingThe Postpartum Resource Center of New York will also host a 2-day training, PSI’s Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders: Components of Care, at the Zucker Hillside Hospital in Glen Oaks NY, this November 14-15. The “We Can’t Wait” Early Childhood Mental Health Conference will be held in San Diego on September 27 and 28 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The event will feature a session on peripartum mental health with Katie Hirst, MD and Gretchen Mallios, LCSW, from the Postpartum Health Alliance of San Diego. The Marce Society is holding a Perinatal Mental Health Meeting in Chicago on November 6-8. It is entitled “Optimizing Maternal Treatment to Improve Infant Outcomes” and is sponsored by the Asher Center for Research and Treatment of Depressive Disorders at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine, the Marce Society and NASPOG, and is aimed at healthcare providers. ALSO, FYI, this week the Postpartum Resource Center of New York will host its 3rd annual Summer Gala. The event is Thursday, August 15th, at Captain Bill’s Restaurant in Bay Shore, NY from 6:30 – 10:30m.  A special treat this year will be a guest appearance by Ciaran Sheehan, star of Broadway’s “The Phantom of the Opera.”  Help support the great work of the PRC of NY helping moms with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders throughout New York by purchasing a ticket and joining in the silent auction.
