postpartum depression books, PPD booksFrom our fearless Warrior Mom Book Club leader Amber Koter-Puline …

Lots of you are already signed up, but in case you missed this post, here’s some more information about the new Warrior Mom Book Club which brings together moms with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders to read and discuss postpartum depression books.  I hope you will email me at atlantamom930 @ gmail.com so you can be added to the mailing list and join in the conversation.

The Warrior Mom Book Club is a fairly new feature at Postpartum Progress.  The book club might just be for you if you enjoy casual talk about what you’re reading in the midst of your busy life.  Anyone is welcome to participate.  We use google docs and a private Facebook group to communicate while we are reading and then to put together an interview in the form of questions and discussion after reading that is then published here.

We began the club with Adrienne Martini’s awesome book, Hillbilly Gothic, which I first read when my first son was about two and then again for the club, three years later. I have to say I enjoyed it as much, if not more, the second time! In case you didn’t get a chance to read along with us, you can check it out on Amazon.

Next up is The Ghost in the House by Tracy Thompson.  It’s a really eye-opening account of maternal mental health and its impact on the entire family from both a genetic and environmental perspective.  You can order a digital or paper copy HERE or do what many savvy mamas did with our previous read and order it from your local library.

Reading and discussion of the latest book will begin right after Labor Day; so please order your copy and be sure to email me if you’d like to be added to the group.
