LIVING Self-Care

Hang in there for this 21-day self-care challenge!

Chores, chores, chores: an endless list. And never enough help. Study after study says women complete more housework than men. Whatever the situation at your house, endless housework competes with time for self-care. It’s just you as Atlas, shouldering the laundry of the world. Forget the myth that others—spouses, children, our support network—should know, should just offer.

Ask for help with one task today. Children (3 and older), partners, family members all can contribute—if you ask. Trusting others to help teaches them responsibility. It can make helpers feel valued for their contribution in making your house a home. Delegate today—and use the time to take care of you, NOT for more housework.

Here’s your mantra: “Accepting help means accepting love and friendship.”
