Mental Health

I just mentioned this over on our Facebook page but I wanted to make sure to say it here as well: Postpartum Progress has been shortlisted for the UK’s Mental Health Hero Awards, which is quite lovely. I have no idea how we came to be on the list, but I must say it’s VERY, very wonderful to be recognized by advocates from across the pond!!

We are finalists in the category of Community Hero – Organization. How fabulous is that? I am very grateful for the recognition. As you know, we care about pregnant and new moms (mums!) around the world and we try to ensure we represent the interests of women in the United Kingdom as well when it comes to postnatal depression, which we call postpartum depression here in the US. We’re always happy to share UK resources and treatment programs and research when we are aware of it.

Anyway, thanks to Mental Healthy, in association with SANE, The Mental Health Foundation, The Centre for Mental Health, and Emergence.

P.S. I should also mention our friends at Band Back Together are shortlisted for the awards as well, in the category of Creative Hero – Group.

P.P.S. Major bonus: We’re on the same list as Stephen Fry. Love him!
