A UK magazine called Take A Break has created a program called Chums4mums that aims to help new mothers overcome postnatal depression (what we call postpartum depression here in the US) by making friends with other moms in their area. More than 10,000 women have already registered on the Chums4mums website, andaccording to Nursing Times, Britain's National Health Service has officially adopted the project. In September, health visitors, midwives and general practitioners will be sharing information on Chums4mums to patients.

Here's the piece that appeared in Take A Break launching the program.
