This is a great piece from the New York Times about how it can sometimes take a while to find the right treatment combination for people with mental illness, and how sometimes healthcare providers place blame on the patients when their health doesn’t improve. This is a great reminder that you have to SPEAK UP if things aren’t working. Yes, one has to be patient to allow medication and therapy to have an effect, but it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be loud and clear about how you’re feeling and whether you’re improving.
