The 3rd annual Perinatal Mental Health Conference will be held Thursday, April 22nd in Fresno, California. This is a full-day conference, sponsored by the Central California Perinatal Mental Health Collaborative,for physicians, healthcare professionals and others who provide support to mothers and moms-to-be. It will help participants learn how to identify women who are suffering and provide practical information and local resources to help.

Speakers will include Dr. Shaila Misri, a renowned psychiatrist specializing in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, Joan Mudd, who established the Chicago-based Jennifer Mudd Houghtaling Postpartum Depression Foundation in 2004 after her daughter lost her battle with PPD, and Kimberly Wong, an attorney for the Los Angeles Country Public Defender’s Office who will share how she founded the Los Angeles County Perinatal Mental Health Task Force after recovering from PPD.
